Our Institute utilizes 100% of all donations to offer services for people on the autism spectrum, their families, and all who interact with them.          

• Founded in 1994, ILCE is composed entirely of volunteers including professionals in the field of autism, parents and grandparents of children on the spectrum, people on the spectrum, and others who are altruistically inclined. None of its leaders receive any kind of remuneration.

What does the Autism Initiative do?

• Most educators and first responders have received no training in autism. By providing information at its highly interactive workshops, it benefits people on the autism spectrum, their families, school and community staff, and first responders who interact regularly with people on the spectrum yet have little information to guide them.

Why are donations important for the work of the Institute?

• The Institute does not charge for its services because its goal is to reach people who are well-intended but lack information about the unique characteristics of many people on the autism spectrum. Many individuals who participate in the Institute’s workshops would likely not attend if there were a fee. Thus, we may not reach key people who do not yet understand how their actions can influence the behavior of people on the autism spectrum.
