You are making a difference in a student's life every day.
We’re here to help
The Institute for Learning Centered Education was founded to support everyone in education. That includes:
For over 20 years the Institute for Learning Centered Education has given teachers:
Learner-centered/social emotional (SEL) teaching strategies
Lesson plans designed to teach students critical thinking skills
Educational strategies for addressing poverty, trauma, issues of social justice, and anti-racism
Tactics to engage students in civil discourse and in class discussions
Books, professional development, and support
Teachers: The role teachers play in students’ lives is second only to that of parents and caregivers. Teachers and other school personnel are often at the front line, and the person parents and caregivers look to for guidance.
Administrators: As school leaders, you are an essential part of the learning process. You support your teachers’ abilities to develop learner-centered classrooms.
Parents: You are your child’s first and most important teacher. You can use learner-centered strategies to support their growth and development at home.
