St. Lawrence University
Canton, NY

FORMAT   |   PRICING   |   REGISTRATION

Our longest running professional development opportunity is the Constructivist Conference. Participants love the ability to focus on a task that will have a direct and positive impact on their classrooms.

________

Format

No long lectures. Immerse yourself in the learner centered world of constructivism, be empowered by experts and resources, and leave with a product that will help improve your classroom or school.

Focus on your own needs. Come with a task that you want to work on during the week. Leave with a product and plan for its immediate use.

Past tasks have included:

  • Writing, mapping, or aligning curriculum and assessments to standards
  • Creating, modifying, or developing implementation plans for professional development or school improvement
  • Preparing for ELA, Math, Science, or Social Studies assessments

New ideas from great educators. Attend workshops that expand your knowledge of student-centered learning, educational technology, and more. Workshops are taught by educators from all levels, including college.

Extended work time. Focus on the task that is important to you and your team of coworkers. Much of your week is spent working on your team's task or project, with the support of a team facilitator and other resource people.

Family-friendly atmosphere. We are proud to be a family-friendly conference. We offer childcare for the little ones, and activities for older children.
