Many graduate students participate in the conference for college credit through St. Lawrence University’s Department of Education.
EDUC 565 or EDAD 565 (Special Topic: Constructivist Design in Education)
Conference participants, facilitators, and resource people who are actively engaged in the Design Conference throughout the week may register for 3 semester hours of graduate credit in educational leadership or teaching through St. Lawrence University’s Department of Education.
If you choose to participate in the Design Conference for St. Lawrence University credit, you will be able to work with your team and/or fulfill your other conference obligations. The course work will not take you away from what you came to do, but it will enhance and build upon your work after the conference ends. You will have meeting times during the conference (but not in conflict with conference work), and there will be a research paper due in the late Fall semester. The research will be designed individually to investigate the ways in which the team’s work at the conference was carried forward during the school year. The course instructor will work with you during the conference to design the research and will continue to advise you throughout the Fall semester.
Transcripts may be ordered from St. Lawrence University at the close of the Fall semester to verify completion of the course for professional development and/or transfer credit upon approval of the student’s advisor in his/her graduate program.
